Volunteer Opportunities
Resolve to become a PLC Volunteer in 2009!
No matter what your interest or expertise, we likely have something you'd like to do.
For example:
Do you like to get out of doors and tromp through the woods? Learn about wildlife in your backyard?
- Then join a Keeping Track team! Includes on the job training, so you don't need to be an expert to join. Contact Barbara Thomson at (603) 487-2974 or batmail72@gmail.com.
Do you enjoy exploring beautiful properties that may not be accessible to the public?
- Become an easement monitor! Becoming a PLC Easement Monitor is a great way to be get more involved in PLC’s work – and to spend some time out in the watershed! There are currently ten properties requiring new easement monitors, a number that will grow over the coming year.
- PLC Volunteer Easement Monitors watch over 1 or more easement properties each. Monitors visit the land at least once per year and attend an annual training session. Depending on the size of the property a monitor will typically spend 3-6 hours walking boundaries, exploring the natural features of the land and checking to be sure the terms of the easement are being met. Please review the list of easements currently needing monitors. Perhaps there is one near you that you would be interested in helping out with.
- To register for Monitors Training please contact Graham at (603) 487-2636 or graypen7@comcast.net.
Easement Monitors are needed for:

- Welch Farm South – Goffstown, Shirley Hill Road
Are you a computer geek and enjoy setting up databases (especially when you can learn something new about your environment in the process)?
- Enter data about new properties, wildlife tracking results, and more. Contact Barbara Thomson at (603) 487-2974 or batmail72@gmail.com.
Are you no longer working, but still have that urge to be out there doing something useful in the world?
- Volunteer in the PLC office -- once a week, once a month, at will, or on call. We can find a job that's just right for YOU! Clerical, handy-man, running errands – whatever! Please fill out the volunteer registration form and email it to the PLC Office at plc@plcnh.org. We’ll contact you when the right opportunity comes up. If the project interests you and the timing is right, great! If not, don’t worry, we can call you again another time. The first step is to fill out the form and let us know you’re out there! Thank you – we look forward to working with you!
